Samyu co-leads - Ladies, Wine and Design Chennaia community to connect and empower creative women in her hometown of Chennai, India and is part of the core team at Indian Creative Women - an initiative to promote gender diversity in creative teams across the Indian advertising and design industry.

How did LIONS Academy come into your field of vision?

As a junior creative on a visa in a foreign country, I couldn't wait to create work that addressed social issues that make an impact. So when I came across the Creative Academy, I jumped at the chance and applied to be a part of the 2018 class. I was sponsored by the fantastic folks at Wunderman Thompson Austin - a special shoutout to my boss, Steve Miller.

What a way to meet such brilliant minds! This kind of one-on-one time with people who have created incredible, award-winning work is rare.
